GTSS Privacy Policy

1. Our Commitment

At the Grant Training and Safety Services Pty Ltd (GTSS) protecting privacy and confidentiality of personal information is very important to us. This policy explains how the GTSS collects, uses, discloses and protects the information we collect from individuals in accordance with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

2. Collection of Information

We collect and store information that is necessary to offer, provide and improve our services. Information provided is not disclosed to third parties, with the exception of service and benefit providers, acting in confidence, on our behalf.

No personal information is collected when you browse our website anonymously. Personal information is required to make an enquiry, place an order, enrol on a course or subscribe to our newsletters either via the internet or dealing with us in person or on the telephone.

3. Use and Disclosure of Information

The primary purpose in collecting your information is to fulfil our business commitments to you in providing occupational health and safety education and training, consultancy, safety products, business networking, publications and on-line advisory services. We may use the information you provide to help improve our range of products we deliver to you, measure consumer and member interest in our services, and to inform you of other GTSS products, events and services. We may also use the information to comply with requirements under the law. When we collect your information we will give you the ability to indicate that you do not want us to use your personal information for disclosed secondary purposes. GTSS does not permit third parties to use information about you other than to perform the service that GTSS has contracted with them to provide. All suppliers, agents and third party companies are required to agree to protect your information in the same way we do. GTSS does not sell personal information to third parties.

4. Storage and Security of Personal Information

GTSS undertakes to ensure that personal information is held in a secure environment and is protected from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. GTSS limits employee access to the servers and databases that store user information. Information collected and stored is kept for as long as you require us to service your account and provide services and products to you. When your information is no longer needed for these purposes we will give you the ability to indicate whether you require us to destroy or permanently render anonymous any information held about you, or keep the information on record to advise you of other events and promotions as well as GTSS products and services.

5. Internet Usage

While every effort is made to protect your privacy, you should be aware of the inherent risks associated with the transmission of information via the Internet. You as an individual are responsible for the security and access to your own computer. Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information over the Internet, this information can be collected and used by others. Links to other websites: GTSS has links to third party websites that provide additional services and benefits to our members. These links are meant for the users convenience only. External sites that are linked to or from our Internet site are not under our control and you are advised to review their privacy statement.

6. Access to Personal Information

GTSS attempts to ensure that all personal information collected and stored is correct and accurate. GTSS will, upon your request and subject to applicable privacy laws, provide you with access to your personal information held by us.

7. Liability Disclaimer

GTSS will make all reasonable endeavours to protect and keep confidential any personal information in its possession in relation to its clients, customers, subscribers or website visitors. If confidential or personal information is accessed by a third party, whether by negligence or otherwise of GTSS, its agents, suppliers, contractors, related bodies corporate, affiliates or associated parties, to the extent permitted by the law, then GTSS is not liable for any loss, damage, costs, liability or other form of contribution.
